Shirin Franklyn
Running Coach
Shirin is a UK Athletics (CiRF) and Lydiard LII certified coach with a passion for helping women begin and continue running for the long term. Her coaching is rooted in the Lydiard principles of building a strong foundation, progressing at the right pace, and developing confidence and resilience through consistent, purposeful training. Shirin is a hands-on and approachable coach who believes in understanding each runner as an individual. She takes into account women's health, everyday life and personal goals, creating training that is both realistic and sustainable. Building trusting relationships allows her to support athletes thoughtfully, whether they're starting to run, returning to running, finding consistency or working towards a personal best.
Shirin is also a coach at Maidenhead Athletics Club (MAC), where she leads track sessions for large groups of all abilities and levels. Whether coaching groups or individuals, she believes running is about more than chasing a pace – it's about enjoying the process, tuning in with your body and building fitness that lasts.
